I have been meaning to email the family of Michael Appleby because of something my seven-year-old daughter said to me. We were leaving Target on Gunbarrel Road in Chattanooga and making a left at a light. I had not yet buckled my seat belt (although I had every intention to do so). The light was about to change to green when I heard from the backseat a little voice saying 'I didn't, you can, buckle up.' I knew exactly where my daughter came up with the line, although we had never discussed it. It brought tears to my eyes. Tears for your loss and tears for the wisdom that came out of those precious lips. I want to thank you for all that you have done to make a difference. We'll never know how many lives have been saved. I wish you continued strength and courage.
